  1. Dissolve yeast in a cup of warm water. In a separate bowl, combine boiling water, 2/3c butter and sugar. Omit the salt if using self rising flour.
  2. Add cold water, then yeast mixture and egg.
  3. Add enough flour to make a medium sticky dough.
  4. Cover and raise until doubled in size.
  5. Grease a 9×13 cake pan with butter.
  6. Dip fingertips in melted butter and rub over your palms.
  7. Pinch off 2″ in balls of dough and roll in buttered hands.
  8. Place in cake pan with sides touching.
  9. Let rise again until dough has doubled in size and is puffed up above the edge of the pan.
  10. Brush the tops with melted butter just before placing in the oven.
  11. Bake at 375 until golden brown
